Clinical Duties:

• Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
• Understands and satisfies the needs of the neonatal, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent and/or adult patient in regards to their growth and development process.
• Manages the dental needs of patients in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Dental Clinics on a regular basis.
• Provides complex dental care to the very young and/or special needs child utilizing outpatient oral sedation.
• Provides patient consultation upon request from hospital clinics and/or physicians.
• Assists in all phases of patient management including the preparation of prior authorizations, replies to insurance questionnaires, etc.
• Complies with all CHW and Dental Center policies and procedures, especially regarding patient registration, care documentation and billing, as well as safety, infection control and quality assurance.
• Manages inpatient care of dental admissions including providing pediatric dental services to inpatients at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
• Provides back-up emergency call consultation to residents as needed, and if necessary, will report to the emergency room or operation room for after hours care.
• Provides consultation services to other hospital departments, the medical/dental staff and the practicing dental community.
• Integrates new clinical procedures and methods appropriate to pediatric dentistry.
• Provides input regarding future departmental planning.
• Participates in evaluations of Children’s Dental Center personnel including assisting staff, clerical staff and attending staff dentists.
• Participates in medical?dental staff committees and reports to the Chief of the Section of Dentistry.
• Participates and has responsibility in developing and maintaining annual budget
• Participates in education and on-going evaluation of clinical support staff.

• Graduate of an ADA accredited dental school with a D.D.S., D.M.D. or equivalent Degree.
• Must have completed an ADA/CODA accredited graduate residency program in pediatric dentistry and have received a certificate and/or M.S. degree.
• Educationally qualified for Board certification in pediatric dentistry.
• Maintains licensure in the State of Wisconsin and current registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency.
• Must be credentialed and be a member in good standing of the Medical Staff of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
• Two years teaching experience in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Current CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
• PALS certified acquired within the first 30 days and remain continuously certified throughout employment.
• Experience in private practice, teaching and/or research is preferred.
