St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, is seeking a Pediatric Dentist to provide direct comprehensive dental care to patients of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, mobile dental program. Acts as attending Dentist on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile for pediatric dental residents in the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children Pediatric Dental Residency Program.
Responsibilities
Provides full range of dental care services to patients served by the mobile dental program.
Assesses disease risk in each client and promotes preventative care practices.
Supervises the day-to-day activities of the dental assistant(s), dental hygienist(s) and provides oversight to the hygiene students when providing services to the Initiative program.
Follows and monitors the policies and procedures for the mobile dental program.
Follows and monitors safety and infection control guidelines as directed by the COHI Program and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Follows the policies and procedures for the Dental Residency Program.
Assesses staff competencies and conducts performance evaluations as requested by the COHI Director or Dental Director.
Participates in Quality Control and makes suggestions for program improvement to the COHI Director.
Demonstrates/models the Hospital's core values and customer service behaviors in the interactions with all patients.
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
Complies with hospital and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
Complies with hospital and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows the appropriate reporting requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of all material handles within the hospital as well as the proper release of information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
A valid, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and evidence of current professional liability insurance.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Must enjoy working with people, especially children. Able to adapt to public health practice settings. Current certificate in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support.
