RN - Surgery - Full Time/Days

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care for patients with common health problems, and is expected to deliver competent patient care to a full patient assignment. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

Valley Children's Healthcare's multidisciplinary approach creates a dynamic team of pediatric surgeons, both general and specialty-based, working together to generate optimal outcomes. These include complex plastic surgery, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, orthopaedics and urology.

REQUIREMENTS: A) a graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred; B) an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Minimum 1 year experience preferred and OR experience highly desirable but new grads welcome to apply. D) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below). Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position and 2) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time, Days 6 x 11.5-hour shifts per pay period. some on-call, nights and weekend coverage required and shared among staff.

PAY RANGE: New Grad: $34.66 - $61.20, RN II - RN IV: $37.09 - $61.20
