The Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine located on Long Island in New York invites applications for an immediate opening as a full-time Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry. The department has a strong pre-doctoral and post-doctoral curriculum within the combined department addressing growth and development of infant, child and adolescent patients as well as those with special health care needs and maintains a robust outreach program to provide quality oral health education and dental services to the underserved populations of Suffolk County. Candidates should demonstrate clear potential for academic growth in teaching, clinical practice, and possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities & Opportunities:
Didactic and clinical instruction of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral dental students in Pediatric Dentistry.
Representation of the Department on committees within the School and University.
Supervision of resident research.
Supervision of resident at-home call.
Participation in on-campus faculty practice.
Special Notes: This is a Clinical Non-Tenure Track position with opportunity to transfer to Tenure Track at a future date.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
DDS or DMD (from a CODA-accredited institution) or equivalent degree.
Completion of a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Pediatric Dentistry.
New York State License (or eligible for license).
Preferred Qualifications:
American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) certification or eligibility.
Previous teaching experience at a CODA accredited institution.
